Veritas CEO, Charlie Ingram, served as Vice President for Community Outreach for the Southwest Florida Chapter of the American Society for Training & Development  (ASTD) in 2008. ASTD is the world's largest association dedicated to workplace learning and performance professionals. Its members come from more than 100 countries and connect locally in nearly 140 U.S. chapters and 25 Global Networks. Members work in thousands of organizations of all sizes, in government, as independent consultants, and suppliers. Each year ASTD awards an "Excellence in Employee Training" award to an individual, and an "Excellence in Employee Development" award to a company, organization or institution, locally.

As part of this awareness and fostering program, ASTD seeks the support in terms of recognition from local municipalities, and in 2008, the City of Cape Coral, and the Counties of Lee and Collier all issued formal Proclamations declaring the week of December 1 - 5 to be "Employee Learning Week" in their respective areas.
